Senior Positions in Singapore's first Arts High School

A new independent arts school, set up by Singapore's Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts, is recruiting for these senior positions - Principal and Directors of Arts/Academic affairs.
The arts school aims to nurture youths aged 13-18, who are talented in the visual and performing arts, to the fullest of their creative potential. The school will be providing a 6-year, pre-tertiary integrated arts and academic curriculum. Located in the city centre and arts district, the school also aims to provide an open and unique learning environment for creative experimentation and community engagement.

PRINCIPAL
The Principal will play a leading role in setting up the school by 2007, establishing a team of committed teachers and staff, and forming an effective network with stakeholders in Singapore and overseas.

Applicants should therefore have the following qualities:
- a strong commitment to and passion for the arts and pre-tertiary education
- at least 8 years experience in a leadership position in an organisation, particularly in the education sector
- knowledge of the international arts and education practicies
- international experience (preferred)

DIRECTORS FOR ARTS/ACADEMIC AFFAIRS
The Directors will help to develop the school's curriculum and programmes, lead and establish a teaching faculty, and support the principal in developing an effective network with the arts community and other education institutions.

Applicants should therefore have the following qualities:
- a strong commitment to and passion for the arts and pre-tertiary education
- expertise and experience in planning arts/academic curriculum
- knowledge and experience of the various artistic disciplines, preferrably including Asian arts
- knowledge and experience of the International Baccalaureate curriculum (preferred)
- at least 5 years experience in a senior position in the education sector
