II National Cultural Conference ( CNC )

From march 11th until the 14th, Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, is going to be the main stage of the II National Cultural Conference II CNC - were artists, cultural producers, investors, managers and representatives of civil society throughout the country will discuss, refine and formulate cultural public policy area.

The proceedings of the Conference will contribute to the construction of a regulatory framework for Culture, fundamental to the strengthening of the area in the country. The discussions will follow five main themes: Production Symbols and Cultural Diversity; Culture, City and Citizenship; Culture and Sustainable Development; Culture and Creative Economy; Management and Institutional Culture.

Part of the steps of the II CNC were previous municipal, state and virtual conferences. All states held their conferences, electing 743 delegates in all. In total, there were 143 pre-conferences with 3,193 registered as candidates for delegate. These previous meetings were intended to stimulate the creation and strengthening of networks of cultural institutions in the country, to proceed on a permanent basis of the cultural discussions and activities.
In numbers, the II CNC is going to house 1325 delegates, 350 observers and 250 invited guests of which, 22 are lecturers.
During the II CNC, the diversity of Brazilian culture is going to be reflected in the schedule of cultural performances, issued by the Ministry of Culture, through the National Foundation of Arts (Funarte). Among the attractions are music concerts, theater, circus, dance, film screenings and exhibitions. Also cultural workshops in various segments will be offered during the journey.
