Glenn D. Lowry and the MoMA in New York

New York Citys Museum of Modern Art, or MoMA, possesses one of the richest collections of modern art in the world. It has a staff of 600, including some of the worlds top specialists in their respective fields, and an annual budget of $85 million....
Since September 2002 MoMA has been temporarily housed in a renovated warehouse in the Queens neighbourhood of Long Island City while awaiting completion of the $800-million expansion of its premises in the heart of Manhattan. In late 2004 or early 2005 MoMA will move into the new complex just in time to celebrate its 75th anniversary. This profile reviews the history of MoMA, the dual mission it adopted in 1929, its current operations and the management style of its director since 1995, Glenn D. Lowry.
