Museum of London, 8 March 2012, 10.00am to 4.45pmSponsored by Target Live / Media partner ArtsProfessionalwww.a-m-a.co.uk/summit
The AMA press and PR summit will provide an opportunity to hear from visionary keynote speakers about likely future directions for press and media and how the arts could benefit from emerging opportunities, trends and predictions.
This years event will also provide a rare opportunity to meet in small groups to review how the changes identified by our keynote speakers could impact on the arts. Joining delegates in these group discussions will be journalists and other practitioners from across a range of media newspapers, radio, TV, online etc.
Keynote speakers:
Paul Bradshaw, media consultant, author and trainer
Martin Belam, Lead User Experience Architect, Guardian News and Media
Paul Bradshaw and Martin Belam will consider the impact of the latest developments in online journalism (data journalism, citizen journalism, multi-platform journalism, etc.) on cultural journalism and outline challenges and opportunities for the arts sector.
This will include reviewing not only the impact on increasing access and integration with cultural news, but also the positive impacts on the medias ability to provide high quality cultural coverage and critique.
Round table discussions:
How can arts organisations and arts journalists work together to find and improve cultural journalism of the future? What barriers might exist? And how can we overcome these?
Delegates will have the opportunity to join round tables to chat to a journalist or media expert about the implications of the changes identified by our opening keynote speakers. Delegates will be able to choose two tables to attend during the round table session each will last for 30 minutes.
Round table hosts include:
Rebecca Jones, Arts Correspondent, BBC News
Rob Sharp, arts journalist (formerly The Independent)
