ARTIFAX Ticketing goes live at RFH

The Royal Festival Hall has installed ARTIFAX Ticketing for their box office and internet booking. The new internet ticketing system can be seen at www.rfh.org.uk where you can buy tickets online, selecting the exact seats you want, with no booking fee payable....
The Royal Festival Hall website offers an Auditorium Seating Plan showing the position of the stage and allowing customers to choose which area they wish to sit. As the cursor moves around the auditorium there is the unique chance to see the "view from your seat". This facility enables consumers to make an informed decision before entering the seating plan.

The area-seating plan shows all available seats, updated in real-time, within the selected area. Seats are colour coded to denote different pricing structures and details are provided about concessions and wheelchair access. One major benefit of the box-office system is that it allows consumers to pick out individual seats. Most websites currently offer "best available seats" where purchasers have no accurate knowledge of where they will actually be sitting!

As the seats are selected over the web, they are blocked off from sale in the box-office, in real time.

Shoppers can then choose to order their seats; continue to purchase other tickets or proceed to the checkout. Payment is made by credit card. Not only is the site simple and secure to use, the other big benefit is there is currently no booking fee - saving consumers and the venue a considerable amount of money. All internet ticketing transactions should be like this!

Roger Tomlinson, independent consultant, who audited and verified the South Bank Centre acceptance and stress tests comments, "The South Bank Centre team did a rigorous series of User Acceptance and Stress Tests for both the Box Office system and the Internet Ticketing, and even had a detailed User's manual on everyone's desks a week before the 'go-live'. There had been an extensive development programme (with more to come) and Artifax Ticketing passed the
tests with full marks."
