ERTNAM-seminar on cooperative ways of working: COOPERATE or DIE! Education, practice and research on cooperation as the norm

Members of ERTNAM and their colleagues organize a research seminar on the conceptual frameworks and good practices how we can cooperate on a creative end sustainable base. Papers on cultural policy, Art Factories, creative living labs, partnerships between schools and cultural organisations and between art schools and foreign institutes among others will be presented. Teachers, practitioners and researchers who want to participate are very welcome.

First Day. June 23 2016: New insights, host: HKU University of the Arts Utrecht

Welcome by Thera Jonker, director HKU Expertise Centre for Education, former vice president of ELIA.

Fifteen professionals want to share their ideas and practical experiences with you. At this moment they are writing an article for the new Book Creative Cooperation. Topics are:

  • As practitioner: how to improve co-creation of knowledge? How can the local municipality stimulate collaboration between institutes and artists?
  • International cooperation between educational institutes; why and how? What can our students do on research?
  • Are there differences between networks, platforms, projects, coalitions and partnerships?
This day will be moderated by prof. dr. Bart van Rosmalen, head of the HKU professorship Art and Professionalization. Professor Van Rosmalen focuses on the concept of Connecting Conversations, working on new, long-term connections between art, the business world, science and social organizations. His focus is always on the person or professional whose job this is.

Second day, June 24 2016: Beyond Cross-Overs, host: Province of Utrecht

Welcome by Mirjam Cloo, team member of the Province of Utrecht. The Province of Utrecht stimulates cross-overs between the creative sector and other sectors. How to create added value after the first steps on cooperation? Cases and policy results will be presented as an invitation to create dialogues between creative people, project leaders, educators, researchers and policymakers.

The second day will be moderated by assoc. prof. dr. Johan Kolsteeg, Groningen University. Professor Kolsteeg is an expert in the field of critical aspects of the creative industries. His PhD at the HKU/Utrecht University was dedicated towards the daily deliberation between arts and economics in cultural and creative organizations.

The fee of the conference includes seminar guide, lunches, evening programme and walking dinner on June 23, informal good bye reception on June 24. Each participant will receive a free copy of the book Creative Cooperation in August 2016, published by Eburon Academic Publishers.

Please send an email to info@ertnam.eu to register not later than Wednesday, May 25 2016. After receiving your fee by the Amsterdam School of Management we will confirm your participation.

This seminar has a limited number of participants.
